A collection of works by the late 19th century French painter Toulouse-Lautrec (Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec). This book was published as a catalog for the exhibition "Absence: Toulouse-Lautrec and Sophie Calle," which will be held at the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum of Art (Tokyo) from November 2024. The exhibition attempts to reexamine the appeal of Toulouse-Lautrec's work using the keywords "absence," proposed as the theme by contemporary artist Sophie Calle, and its two-sided counterpart, "presence." This book features 136 works depicting the cityscape of Paris and women, which Toulouse-Lautrec loved throughout his life.
