This book follows the footsteps of Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon, and was published in conjunction with the exhibition "Jean-Michel Folon: Imaginary Travel Guide," which will be held in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka in July 2024. It was compiled to coincide with the first exhibition in Japan in 30 years, and is aimed at a new audience who are not yet familiar with Folon.
This book, Book 2 of the two-volume series, features photographs by photographer Wahei Kimura of places associated with Folon scattered across France and Belgium. The exhibition features ateliers, cityscapes and rural landscapes captured on film in Paris, Burcy, Brussels and La Hulpe, along with other related works by Folon. At the end of the book, poet Osaki Sayaka has contributed a poem, attempting to convey Folon's image not only visually but also through words.
