This is the debut album by Chicago singer-songwriter Liam Hayes, released in 1998 under the name Plush.
Almost the entire album is composed of vocals and piano with a home-recorded approach, and the simplicity of the sound produces an authentic melody and a direct wave of personal, melancholic emotion reminiscent of Jimmy Webb, Brian Wilson, Laura Nyro, Harry Nilsson, and others.
This reissue faithfully reproduces the specifications of the original release, and includes an envelope-style outer sleeve and a 12-page full-color booklet that takes advantage of the LP size, making for a highly satisfying package.
