A 2025 release by Mocky, a musician and multi-instrumentalist originally from Canada and currently based in Los Angeles.
This album, his first since moving to the prestigious hip-hop/soul label Stones Throw, was inspired by a fundamental question for modern creators: "Why do flesh-and-blood humans create and perform music in the age of AI?" It was produced with an approach that endlessly pursues the "imperfect beauty" that can only be achieved through human voices, live performances, and analog recordings.
Starting with the lead single, a cover of Dusty Springfield's "Just a Little Lovin'", his style of projecting modern propositions and sophisticated ideas into nostalgic sound images is unique to him.
The euphoric and floating sound has resulted in the title 'Music Will Explain', which also serves as an answer to the initial question that prompted the creation of the album.
