A 2025 release by The Vernon Spring, the solo unit of Brighton-based pianist/composer Sam Beste.
The tranquil and mysterious piano tones are fused with jazz, hip-hop, and ambient production. In a sonic space where electronic and acoustic elements blend seamlessly, the mind is drawn to philosophical questions about self and other.
The artwork was created by visual artist Eric Timothy Carlson, who is also known for his work with Bon Iver, and it adds a layered quality to the dense worldview of this album, which could be called a kind of sound art.
