Cécile Poimboeuf-Koizumi - THE ARTIST’S ATLAS: TOKYO

In stock

A unique Tokyo guidebook concept conceived by Cécile Poimboeuf-Koizumi, co-founder of the French publishing house Chose Commune.

Born to a Japanese mother and a French father, Poimboeuf-Koizumi spent her early childhood in Tokyo. Over the years, often asked for personal recommendations on where to visit, eat, stay, and wander in the city, she posed these questions to 15 artists with deep ties to Tokyo. This volume is the fruit of that creative endeavour.

From favourite local cafés and late-night bars to hidden backstreets, beloved bookshops, and art galleries, the book reveals a deeply personal tapestry of places cherished by the participating artists. It is richly illustrated with photographic works, drawings, and sketches created specifically for this publication, complemented by original illustrations throughout by Izumi Shiokawa.

A remarkable volume that seamlessly fuses the functionality of an atlas, the artistic depth of an artist’s book, and the intimate charm of a cultural diary.
