Aperture's version of "Halo" published by HeHe in 2017 and sold out.
The subjects were countless flocks of migratory birds flying over the UK, a festival held in a village in China's Hebei province where scrap metal is melted and thrown against a wall in place of fireworks, and a festival held at Izumo Taisha's Shinto Festival. Divine fire and the night sea.
Images of exposed nature and human activities, darkness and light, fear and hope, life and death intertwine, and combined with the heavy texture of the binding, this book leaves a powerful impact on the viewer.
