A 2022 work by Ryuta Iwamura, a composer/pianist living in Tokyo.
"Symphony" includes impressive subtitles for each song, such as "For a Piano, a Toy Piano, a Red Warbler, and a Wind Chime," and "For a Piano, Two Toy Pianos, and the Winter Kugenuma Coast." Contains all 16 songs from the series named.
Based on a lyrical piano performance, musical instruments such as a toy piano, pianica, glockenspiel, and ukulele are layered, as well as environmental sounds such as birds chirping, camera shutter sounds, tumbler doll chimes, and the sound of an hourglass, creating scenes of everyday life. A "symphony" that resonates with the world is expressed.
The artwork was created by MOTOMITSU MAEHARA, a picture book artist based in Paris. This work is a collage made from scraps of free paper collected on the subway.
