First published by Mole in 1996, the out-of-print "Tokyo, the '50s" has been re-edited into a "double A-side" art book titled "Tokyo, the '50s / Blue Yokohama," featuring nearly 40 previously unreleased "Blue Yokohama" works, allowing readers to enjoy it from either side. The rapid modernization of the city and the mood of the era resonate with Narahara's free and improvisational camerawork. Each fleeting moment of a lost era in Tokyo and Yokohama, which now look almost like a foreign country, is etched into the prints.
