"Tokyo, the '50s" (out of print), originally published by Mole in 1996, has been re-edited as a double-sided art book entitled "Tokyo, the '50s / Blue Yokohama," adding nearly 40 previously unpublished works, including "Blue Yokohama." The book can be enjoyed by opening the pages on either the left or right side.
Narahara's free and improvisational camerawork echoes the rapidly modernizing city and the mood of the times.
Tokyo and Yokohama may seem like foreign countries to us today, but the prints capture every moment of a lost era.
