In Tokyo's Yanaka district, within a 5-tsubo (approx. 16.5 sq m) shop, Gururi offers books that deliver quiet voices, coffee and tea, and cat-themed merchandise. Yanaka is also a town where cats roam the alleyways, and before long, people who love cats as much as books began to gather at the shop.
This book is an anthology of eight cat essays collected from "meguru," a free paper published by Gururi. Each essay explores how cats interact with people, and how people interact with cats. Contributors include Sonoko Osanai, Kuniko Kawada, Shiori Kitagawa, Yuka Kusakabe, Kodama, Fumihiko Tanji, Maki Miyakawa, and Ai Watanabe. The book also features numerous new illustrations by Ayumi Hanamatsu.
