A 1963 work by American composer and arranger Frank De Vol and his big band. This album was produced for teenagers who liked the dance styles that were popular in the early 60s, such as Twist, Mashed Potatoes, and Locomotion. It combines the horn arrangement sense that he had cultivated through his work as a jazz vocalist and in film music with the rock and roll/rock music that introduced electric guitars. It's an R&B-style dance album that combines a rich sound with a light-hearted beat. The album is composed of a succession of short, up-tempo numbers from the first track on side A to the fifth track on side B, and the only slow number at the end, “Roses Are Red,” sentimentally evokes the finale of a dance party.
