Original release in 1958. A reissue of the 2nd leader work by Bill Evans, who was 29 years old at the time and was in the Miles Davis group and was attracting attention as an up-and-coming jazz pianist.
It features a unique design in which signed recommendations from four famous senior jazzmen, Miles Davis, George Shearing, Ahmad Jamal, and Cannonball Adderley, are displayed in all capital letters on Table 1.
A fulfilling work with a well-balanced arrangement of powerful swing numbers composed of a piano trio with Sam Jones on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums, and intelligent and delicate piano solo songs such as "Peace Piece" (B2).
