Originally released in 1967 on the A&M/CTI label. Brazilian composer/musician Antonio Carlos Jobim's fifth solo album.
With Klaus Ogermann's elegant arrangement and the support of up-and-coming American jazz musicians such as Ron Carter, this is a bossa nova instrumental (only B3 is a vocal song) with an easy-listening interpretation. It is a masterpiece that can be said to be the perfect output for the noble and sophisticated world view of Jobim's songs.
Kirin's cover photo was taken by Pete Turner, a photographer whose work has been featured on the CTI label, and past album covers have also included versions with a red color scheme.
