Weekend is a post-punk band formed around vocalist Alison Statton. 1st single released in 1982.
The title track A1 starts with a minimalist guitar riff reminiscent of its predecessor Young Marble Giants, and is enriched with a jazzy saxophone and bossa nova-style percussion. The title track A1 is a sophisticated sound from the album "La Varieté" to be released after this. A transitional piece that gives you a sense of its future. The B-side includes the song "Sleepy Theory," which features strings and creates a dark, classical atmosphere.
