Catalog for the exhibition of American artist Stanley Whitney's work held at Lisson Gallery in London in 2019. The focus of this exhibition was on small-scale works created using leftover paint after completing large-scale works. Although the unique style of arranging colorful grids on a square canvas remains the same, the layers and coatings have a minimalist finish, and the difference in production process creates an accidental effect. Stanley himself compares this approach to the jazz musician's slang term for ``wood-shedding'' (intense practice practiced secretly), and is impressed by the artist's passion for exploring the possibilities of color expression and the vigor that is unique to a study. One. Includes many large prints in the form of fold-out posters.
