A collection of works by Michael Kenna, a British photographer living in the United States. This book contains 100 photographs capturing the diverse landscapes of Japan that the photographer has frequently visited since his first visit to the country in 1987. The world, delicately expressed through the use of monochrome shades, is somehow reminiscent of a Zen state, and speaks heartfeltly of the solemn "presence of absence" that Kenna has been exploring. Printed in duotone on natural coated art paper, the rich tonal expression is reproduced on the paper. The binding, made of linen and silk cloth, is also beautiful.
