The third album by Alog, a Norwegian abstract/experimental unit.
The mixed analog/digital sound that is implied in the unit's name (digital + anlog = alog) is still alive and well in this album, featuring loops and drones made from samples of acoustic instruments and field recordings.
The title "Miniatures" was inspired by Turkish miniature paintings, which have several strict rules, such as no shadows, no mixing of colors, no perspective, no facial features, and no originality in the subjects.
The album exudes a miniature cuteness amidst the surreal and mysterious sound. The artwork by Kim Hiorthøy also perfectly reflects the perfect balance between pop and surreal.
Two bonus tracks are included exclusively on the Japanese version.
