This is the second album by British singer-songwriter Vashti Bunyan, released in 2005, 35 years after her previous album. The freshness of the songs, which lyrically describe the scenery and introspection of the "here and now," remains surprisingly intact, giving us a sense of the power of simple, beautiful music that does not fade with the passage of time. This reissue commemorating the 20th anniversary of the album's release is a two-disc set that includes 10 additional tracks, including demos, alternate takes, and live recordings, on a separate disc. The album also comes with a 16-page booklet featuring liner notes by Vashti herself, Max Richter, and Devendra Banhart, as well as a painting by Vashti's daughter, Whyn Lewis, who created the album's artwork, allowing you to enjoy the album from a deeper and more multifaceted perspective.
