Strawberry Guy is a solo project by Alex Stephens, a singer-songwriter based in Liverpool, England. This is his first full-length album, released in the winter of 2021.
This album, which was produced at the band's home in Liverpool during the lockdown, features layered sounds that go far beyond the scale that is conjured up by the term "bedroom pop."
Influenced by 19th century Romantic composers such as Debussy and Ravel, the rich sound was carefully woven with the desire to "create a sound that is like having an 80-piece orchestra packed into your room," and it transports you to a dreamy landscape, like Monet's painting "Meadow at Giverny," which is used as the cover art.
