A collection of photographs of American suburban homes by American photographer Todd Hido. The orange light filtering in through the windows of the nondescript, uniform residential architecture, enveloped in the dim twilight, creates a sense of unreality, somewhat like a diorama. The book also includes photographs of the interiors of foreclosed and vacant prefabricated homes; these images further emphasize the sense of impermanence and emptiness that permeates the work, but at the same time, paradoxically, they also suggest the peaceful and optimistic side of having lights on in the homes . A representative Todd Hyde book that finds unrest and peace, despair and hope in the midst of an ordinary suburban landscape. It comes in a huge format of 356 mm x 432 mm.
