A collection of works by German photographer Lia Darjes.
The film was produced by inviting friends over to a table in the garden and observing the food, drink and tableware they left behind. When birds or wild animals arrived, the camera was set on and the scene was recorded.
The contrast of light and dark and color against a black background is reminiscent of 17th century Dutch still life paintings, and the work depicts the moment when the realms of humans and wild animals intersect in a seamless blend of documentary and artistic expression.
The book design, with its elaborate foil stamping on velour, is also beautiful.
