Sculptor Goro Kakei passed away in November 2021 at the age of 91. His bold and free-spirited style, which is not bound by conventional techniques, continues to have a strong impact on viewers at any given time, and he has exhibited a huge number of works including public art from all over Japan, three-dimensional works, drawings, prints, and glass works. left behind works.
This book is a collection of prose that approaches Mr. Kakei's true face, which has rarely been talked about before. Between each chapter, 10 of his own prints are included as illustrations, creating a book with a ``papier colle (paper collage) feel'' (according to the publisher's information).
The book design, designed by Yuri Abelson of POSTALCO, is also attractive, including the binding using bag binding and the rough texture of the paper.
