The disc guidebook "Quiet Corner - A collection of music to calm the mind" and the compilation CD "Quiet Corner - a collection of sensitive music", both released in 2014, became long-time bestsellers, and the compilation CDs have since been made into a series, becoming a part of people's daily lives.

This record is a best-of-the-best collection of songs from over 10 compilation CDs released over the course of 10 years, focusing on the best songs from the early days of the series. It also includes Eliza Lumley's "Black Star" (a cover of Radiohead's song), which was not included at the time due to various reasons. Many of the songs, including this one, are being released on record for the first time in the world.

The jackets for the early series were works by popular illustrator Ryuto Miyake.
