This is the debut solo album by British singer-songwriter Tracey Thorn, released in 1982 while she was studying at the University of Hull. The album features a minimalist sound consisting almost entirely of Tracy's voice and semi-acoustic guitar playing, but the languid transparency expressed through his inclination towards punk rock such as The Clash and Sex Pistols, as well as musical influences from early bossa nova, makes it a counter to old-fashioned macho culture and could be called Rebel Music for a new era. This 2024 reissue includes the original eight tracks, plus five demo tracks, including "Another Bridge" and "The Spice Of Life," which later became Everything But The Girl repertoire. The sound source has been remastered at Abbey Road Studios.
