The lack of text allows readers to more directly experience Jansson's artistic ability to visualize distorted and delicate mental landscapes, as well as the charm of the diverse and lovable characters.
This 80th anniversary edition differs from the previously published hardcover and softcover editions of the same title in that the softcover version is housed in a special hardcover box.
