It has been 27 years since the Japanese novelization of the previous film, My Uncle's Vacation (the theatrical release in Japan was out of order), was published. Finally, the novelization of My Uncle has been released.
The book features illustrations by Pierre Etex, an illustrator, actor, and film director who has close ties to Tati's work.
