A collection of works by photographer Rinko Kawauchi. The title "M/E" stands for Mother Earth, and also contains the meaning of "Me."
The photographs, taken in Iceland, Hokkaido, near his home and elsewhere, attempt to capture the incomprehensible beauty contained within each place, reminding us that the Earth exists before concepts of borders or time.
This book has a beautiful physical appearance, with bold foil stamping on the cloth-bound cover and a delicate print finish using thin, almost translucent paper.

"M/E is the acronym for Mother Earth.
Writing these two letters out loud connected something so enormous that it could not be seen in its entirety with the naked eye to the individual, and it reminded me of the strange sensation I had experienced inside the crater, as if the earth and I had become one, inverted.
