Allo, Darlin' is a twee pop/indie pop band from London. The fourth single recut from the first album released in 2010. The title track, A1, features a confident quote from Cyndi Lauper's global hit, an Afrobeat introduction that sounds like a prototype for Vampire Weekend, and a reference to Paul Simon's "Graceland" in the lyrics (I like it, but I don't like it). This number has a lot of hooks, such as "It expresses an atmosphere that can't be said to be true." The B-side includes an acoustic version of the previous single "If Loneliness Was Art." The gentle ukulele playing and chorus, which almost seems like a separate song, match the lyrics that describe the feelings of unrequited love.
