Wanda Sur, a Brazilian vocalist and guitarist also known for his work with Sérgio Mendes & Brasil 65, released his debut album in 1964. Accompanied by jazzy performances by up-and-coming bossa nova musicians of the time, such as Roberto Menescal and Deodato, he performs songs by Edu Lobo, Vinicius de Moraes, Marcos Valle, and others, with a husky voice that exudes a subtle sense of nostalgia. Combined with the cover photo capturing Wanda at the age of 19 at the time, this is a timeless classic that easily overlaps with the image of 60's bossa nova that Japanese people have in their minds.
