A 1956 work by Sonny Criss, a saxophone player based in LA during the heyday of hard bop.
Composed as a quartet with Sonny Clark (piano) on piano, this is a collection of standard songs with a well-balanced mix of emotionally charged ballads and lively swing numbers.
The cover art, which impressively uses the Italian scooter Vespa, which became an iconic item in the 1953 film Roman Holiday, was created by LA graphic designer Norman Gollin.
