The Gentle Waves is a solo project by Isabel Campbell, who was in charge of cello, keyboards, and vocals for Belle and Sebastian. 2nd album released in 2000 while still in the band.
Based on a folky, classical sound that is similar to Virginia Astley's works, elements such as indie rock and French pop are sprinkled with spices, and along with her whisper-like, fleeting voice, it is painfully delicate. A transparent world view is quietly expressed.
