Composed in 1960 by Fred Lowery, a professional whistler from Texas. Lowry, who had a visual handicap from an early age and enjoyed imitating bird calls with a whistle as a daily pastime, succeeded in converting this technique into musical expression. He has appeared on numerous radio and television shows and has become so popular that he has performed at Carnegie Hall and the White House. This work features popular songs such as "Over The Rainbow" and "Danny Boy." His unique whistling skills are on full display, from easy-to-understand whistles to imitation of bird calls, delicate vibrato, and tricky plays.
