Released in 2022. The second album by Flore Laurentienne, a solo unit by composer Mathieu David Gagnon from Montreal, Canada.
Inspired by the scenery of the majestic St. Lawrence River flowing through his home province of Quebec, this work uses a counterpoint technique influenced by Bach to repeat the melody, and the multilayered resonance of synthesizers, clarinet, and string ensemble. The flow of a large river, sometimes gently, sometimes dynamically, undulating and swirling, is beautifully depicted. Limited edition River Blue vinyl.
