This issue features the complete work of Omagari Toshi, a typeface designer based in London, England.
A wide range of production examples are introduced, including multilingual typefaces for non-Latin scripts, rearrangements of European typefaces, various customizations and collaborations, and even the development of applications and digital devices.
This small feature focuses on the wrapping paper "Hana Hiraku" for Mitsukoshi Department Store, which was designed by the artist Genichiro Inokuma in 1950. We follow the attempt to "refine" the design, which has undergone minor changes over the years, to return it to its original form.
Comes with an appendix of a typeface sample book for "The New Centaur" created by Omagari.
